Hell Week(s)

In theater, they call the week before a show opens hell week. I consider each event I put on almost like a show so here I am, poised to enter my hell weeks. Schedule as follows:

May 2: Out to Meet fundraiser for Outlet, ACS’ newest program providing support, education, leadership opportunities, and advocacy for LGBTQQ youth. Tickets are still available: www.tinyurl.com/outtomeet

May 6: Silicon Valley Gives. Poised to be the largest single day of philanthropy in Silicon Valley, we hope to raise at least $10,000 and meet a $10k dollar for dollar match for ACS. Give on May 6 or schedule a gift in advance: www.tinyurl.com/SVGivesACS

May 14: A leadership event for the capital campaign I’m chairing. At this point, I just hope I can get away for a couple hours to attend.

May 16: Spring Sounds, ACS’ annual fundraising gala, this year taking place at a 90,000 square foot mansion. Two more tables to fill. This is my 7th Spring Sounds and I’ve accepted that at a certain point, my work is done and it is up to people in the room to get us to our goal. www.SpringSoundsEvent.org. Oh, it’s also my 29th birthday.

May 17: Lead gift event for church capital campaign. Should be fairly simple but it’s quick timing, administrative tasks, and again, attendance that add to my worryometer.

May 18: Church wide campaign event that (thankfully) I am not coordinating!

May 19: Nolan’s 2nd birthday. Also the day I collapse from exhaustion.

Any and all prayers or positive vibes welcome and graciously accepted.

May may make my head explode

May.  Why does May always have to be so busy?

In November I agreed to chair our church’s capital campaign.  It’s a great way for me to give back and it’s good experience, from a professional standpoint.  I’ve never been a part of a capital campaign before.

When I took it on, I didn’t anticipate being back at ACS and having two, let alone one, fundraising event in May.  But, here I am trying to juggle a fundraising event on May 2, a big giving day campaign on May 6, a fundraising gala on May 16 (my birthday!), and a capital campaign launch on May 18.

Luckily, once I get through May this craziness will pretty much be all over.  But in the meantime, trying to juggle my work schedule, capital campaign commitments, family responsibilities, and life (my kiddo’s birthday is May 19) is starting to hurt my head.
